DragSport Eliminator

        AmericanDRAGCAR  is the creator of what has been described as Extreme Bracket Racing in the development of it's DragSport Eliminator. All DragStar  and DragCar Eliminator  non-qualifiers and first round losers are eligible to enter into DragSport EliminatorDragSport Eliminator competitors will be Re-Indexed according to their qualifying performance and laddered according to respective indexes in the following manner;

DragSport
Eliminator  racers will be Re-Indexed by way of rounding their actual qualifying performances to the nearest 5 hundredths of a second using only the 2nd decimal point of the qualifying E.T. Example; A 10.929 qualifying time would be recognized as a 10.92 and rounded to 10.90 for the DragSport Eliminator  Adjusted Index.

Those not running electronic timers will have their qualifying ET's rounded to the nearest 5 hundredths for their Adjusted Index. Example: A 10.18 through 10.22 would be rounded to a 10.20 index.

Those who are running electronic timers will have their qualifying ET's rounded down to the next 5 hundredths for their Adjusted Index. Example: A 10.21 through 10.25 would be rounded to a 10.20 index.
        Any racer feeling that their Adjusted Index is slower than what they will likely run in eliminations may request to have their adjusted index lowered by any amount in 5 hundredth increments. (.05, .10, .15, etc.) This request must be made before the start of 1st round of eliminations during the time of index adjusting at the back of staging and driver must initial off on the Adjusted Index sheet to verify that they requested the new index given. This will only be an option before the start of First Round of eliminations and once a racer opts to have their adjusted index set lower than the DragSport  standard Adjusted Index, this index may not be raised for any reasons outside of correcting an organizational error.

        DragSport Eliminator  competitors will be laddered by performance product from highest to lowest but leaving the potential First Round bye-run to the competitor having the overall best adjusted index position. This means that in instances where there is a bye-run in the First Round, the bye will be awarded to the racer having run closest to 2 hundredths under their Adjusted Index during qualifying.

        Eliminations will be handicapped start with the first vehicle to cross the finish line being declared the winner regardless of elapsed times.
        In instances where a round winner runs significantly under their Adjusted Index, these competitors will be Re-Indexed for the subsequent rounds according to the Run-Under Re-Indexing Table.

DragSport  elimination round run-unders will be Re-Indexed in the following manner;

        Note: All Re-Indexing run-under calculations are based off of First Found Adjusted Indexes regardless of the number index re-adjustments. This means that running under a 5 hundredths re-adjusted index by 3 hundredths will be calculated as an 8 hundredths run-under, and the subsequent Re-Indexing will be accordingly.

Example: A racer with an Adjusted Index of 10.00 which has been Re-Indexed to 9.95 and now runs under the 9.95 Index by 3 hundredths will not be Re-Indexed as a 3 hundredths Run-Under but as an 8 hundredths Run-Under as the 3 under (9.95-9.92=.03)  9.92 is actually 8 hundredths under the First Round Adjusted Index of 10.00.

All DRAGCAR  competitions will be held utilizing a 5 tenths full competition tree starting system. The reasons for this are numerous as much thought has gone into determining this to be the official AmericanDRAGCAR  starting system. A full tree allows for handicapped racing without the detrimental effects of having faster vehicles unnecessarily enduring extended periods of high rpm readiness in wait for their own start signal to be given. It also allows for slower less competitive racers to maintain realistic hopes of continuing into subsequent rounds of competition by means of "cutting" better lights than their opponents. While the full tree does allow for a greater likelihood of red-light starts, it eliminates instances of racers red-lighting by way of simply being too quick such as in cases where a driver and vehicle's combined reaction time actually total less than 4 tenths of a second. On a Pro light, these racers would be forced to slow their vehicle's reaction time by means of lowering launch rpm or some other means which could ultimately have negative impacts on the vehicle's quarter mile performance as well. The full tree simply keeps all competitors on a level track.

All safety guidelines enforced by the hosting facility must be followed.
